After a series of murders bearing all the markings of the Jigsaw killer, law enforcement officials find themselves chasing the ghost of a man who has been dead for over a decade, and they become embroiled in a new game that’s only just begun. Is John Kramer back from the dead to remind the world to be grateful for the gift of life? Or is this a trap set by a killer with designs of his own?

I’m going to keep this brief because I’m not a big fan of the Saw franchise and this film was just more of the same.  After a hiatus of I think 6 years or something this could’ve been the film to restart the franchise, but instead it pretty much just copies everything we’ve seen before.  Besides the un-originality I thought the manner in which they tried to surprise the audience was pretty dumb and confusing.  This movie is watchable and I’m sure fans of the previous Saw films will probably get enough enjoyment out of it, but it was just kind of meh for me.

  1. I was on the fence about watching this movie already, so your review has definitely convinced me to not waste my time watching another generic Saw film. I agree, this film could have been the “restart” of the franchise. Disappointing that it wasn’t.

Nicely written! Thanks for keeping it short and to the point!
