Paranormal researcher Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) and physicist Erin Gilbert are trying to prove that ghosts exist in modern society. When strange apparitions appear in Manhattan, Gilbert and Yates turn to engineer Jillian Holtzmann for help. Also joining the team is Patty Tolan, a lifelong New Yorker who knows the city inside and out. Armed with proton packs and plenty of attitude, the four women prepare for an epic battle as more than 1,000 mischievous ghouls descend on Times Square.
Ah Ghostbusters, the movie that everyone hates before they have even seen it. So what did I think? Simple. Not bad and Not great. It was just okay and that’s as simple as I can put it. I didn’t mind any of the characters although some of them could use some definite tweaking. I think I tend to have the same complaint as most people, that this just doesn’t feel like real life it feels like Paul Fieg’s world. The original Ghostbusters had the real world-real character kind of feel. The CGI is good for the most part but It was a little spotty toward the end when there was more of it. And wow Fieg can’t shoot action for anything, some really bad shots. The cameos were just fine I guess (I didn’t stay for the after credits ones.) However I thought the Bill Murray one was a little absurd and disrespectful to him. This was no where close to the original, but did anyone think it would be? It had some decent jokes and I laughed but some missed and that’s that. I didn’t hate it and I didn’t love it. But please don’t just jump on the bandwagon of hating it you might end up changing your mind.
