OSCAR PREDICTIONS 2016

oscars-2016-nominations-snubs-discussion.jpg

Best Picture Spotlight – Michael Sugar, Steve Golin, Nicole Rocklin and Blye Pagon Faust, Producers

My Pick is Spotlight because it seems like the more stereotypical Best Picture winner.  However I can see the Revenant winning as well its a tossup for me.  Both were great.

Actor in a Leading Role Leonardo DiCaprio – The Revenant

Leo finally wins his Oscar everyone can celebrate.  Its about a 99% chance its a done deal.

Actor in a Supporting Role Mark Rylance – Bridge of Spies

The obvious consensus pick here is Stallone for Creed, I like Rylance in Bridge of Spies unless an upset expect Stallone.

Actress in a Leading Role Brie Larson – Room

This isn’t even a contest.  Larson’s performance in Room was phenomenal.

Actress in a Supporting Role Kate Winslet – Steve Jobs

This is another one of those tossups. I like Winslet over Alicia Vikander in The Danish Girl.

Documentary (Feature) Amy – Asif Kapadia and James Gay-Rees

I wouldn’t even discuss this category but this was one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen, it was amazing.

Directing The Revenant – Alejandro G. Iñárritu

I’m going with Iñárritu but if Miller won for Mad Max I wouldn’t be upset and certainly not shocked.

Writing (Adapted Screenplay) The Big Short – Screenplay by Charles Randolph and Adam McKay
Writing (Original Screenplay) Spotlight – Written by Josh Singer & Tom McCarthy

These are fairly obvious shocked if anyone else wins.
